When gingival recessions are seen in metal-supported crowns, a thin black line appears at the tooth gingival border. Since aesthetic crowns are white inside and out, there is no aesthetic appearance problem. Gingival compatibility of aesthetic crowns is considerably higher than metal support. The light transmittance of metal-supported veneers is less than aesthetic crowns, therefore, aesthetic porcelains are preferred in cases where aesthetics is at the forefront.
